A common rivalry between Alphas

:bulletblue: Foelin flicked his ears as he padded out of his den. The sun shone bright over his pack as he watched them from above. He sighed as he made his way down to the main clearing. He wanted to get out today, he had been so stressed lately, he needed to get away for a while. He made his way out of camp with a sigh and began to pad down the mountain to the forest below. Maybe he should check the borders, at least get something done to day. He began to trot when he reached the forests, which eventually turned into a run. Foelin reached the lake quickly while running and was soon met by open meadows by the lake. He stopped by the clear waters to take a drink before checking his packs borders and resenting the lines for his pack.

:bulletgreen: Wow it's soooo boring in camp right now! Harmony thought with a loud grown. She laid stretched out on her side in her den. All the wolves in the camp were either out hunting or training! Even the siklas were doing something useful, like bringing in moss and cleaning the dens. Harmony groaned again and rolled onto her paws. "I think I'll just go for a run.. or something," She told herself. She jumped down the ledge that stood out from he den and landed with a soft thud on the dusty cave floor. Harmony broke out into a full blown run straight out the camp tunnel entrance and out into the open. "The fields are a great place to run!" She said with a smile. She kept running until she came to the edge of the forest that bordered the fields. She looked over the hills until she spotted one of the many meadows that marked the Pack of Winding Rivers territory. She let out a snort. Fish eaters.

:bulletblue: After having his drink and catching his breath after his long run he got back to his paws and stretched, with a yawn. He slowly made his way around the waters edge in order to get to the borders he had decided to check. He looked into their territory and growled a bit. Damn rivals, He thought, Useless, good for nothing wolves, He sniffed at the borders before refreshing his packs scent, it seems it hadn't been done in a while. He would make a point of sending more wolves out to mark around here. He looked back into the other territories and his hackles bristled a bit. There was a wolf, pretty far away, though he could still see it. He couldn't make out just who it was, it was still to far away for that. He tried to catch a scent on the air, but the wind was flowing in the wrong direction and he couldn't pick up a scent. He snorted to himself, what could a stupid Whispering Trees wolf do to him?

:bulletgreen: Harmony let the breeze flow through her reddish brown pelt as she ran through the fields. She stopped dead in her tracks as the scent of a wolf came to her nose. This was definitely not a Whispering Trees wolf she could tell that much. This scent was oddly familiar though. Although Harmony was still on her side of the territory she couldn't help but suspect that the intruder was also. She let out a low growl and lifted her tail. She took a wiff of the air again and finally pinpointed the scent. Foelin! She snarled at the name. That fish eater better be on his side of the land! If not I'll give him a reason to not cross the border! She let her gaze wander before she spotted him. He was still quite far away but she needed to be sure he hadn't crossed the border.

:bulletblue: Foelin watched as the Whispering Trees wolf began to come closer to the border. He was finally able to see who it was and he instantly bristled and let out a loud snarl. Harmony That annoying she-wolf who lead his rival pack. His tail stood strait up as she approached and he let out another snarl, "What do you want?" He snapped as she padded closer to the border. She had better not even think about crossing the border. He stood his ground angrily as he waited for her to reply to his question. If even one paw of hers made it onto his side, he wouldn't hesitate to rip the she-wolf's pelt off.

:bulletgreen: "What do I want?" She growled her tail and head held high. She made sure to stay on her side of the border. "What do you want! You're the one I spotted close to the border!" She growled at him, he lips drawn back in a snarl. "As you can see I'm very clearly on my side of the border but I don't about you," She scoffed and stuck up her nose. Her brows were furrowed as she glared at Foelin.

:bulletblue: "Well obviously, your sense of smell is gone, because it's completely obvious that I just refreshed my side of the border" He growled to her, snarling so his glimmering white teeth shined. "Figures a useless Whispering Tree wolf wouldn't know aa good border marking when they see one," He scoffed, "Not to mention a terrible alpha such as your self to think that I, a good alpha, am clearly on my land, and you had better stay off my side," He growled, "You don't even deserve the term 'alpha', a useless wolf like your self, its sickening!" He growled in disgust.

:bulletgreen: Harmony's red and brown pelt bristled in anger. She looked Foelin in the eyes, he glare unwavering as she snarled, "Look here you mangy fish eater, unless you're to much of a sikla to look me in the eye like a real alpha," She didn't even so much as blink as she spoke in her icy tone, "I have never so much in my life crossed the border and I certainly won't start now, not like there's much that your land has much to offer." She snorted in disgust. This wolf certainly brought her anger out in such an unhealthy way. A part of her wanted Foelin to cross the border, just so she could rip that smug disgusting look off his face, and maybe rip his pelt off too. "I earned my title as alpha by working for it! You only got it from being a lil mama's boy!" She growled deeply. "I fought for my pack! Look at my EYE for Fenrir's sake! It was torn out fighting for my pack! I don't see you sporting any proof!" She shook with anger. She just wanted this wolf out of her sight.

:bulletblue: Foelin snarled in furious anger as Harmony spoke "how dare you!" He snarled at her, his eyes locked with the rival alpha. "I fought harder for my pack than you ever could have! So just because you have a measly scar that means you fought harder?!" He growled angrily, his hackles raising high "that just means you don't know how to defend yourself!" He spat with a disgusted tone. "I made my way to alpha because my wolves know how much I fought for them! Not because they feel sorry for me because of a war injury!"

:bulletgreen: Harmony fumed at his comment. "I didn't become alpha because they pitied me!" She snarled through gritted teeth. Her canines showing brightly. "I worked to get where I am today! I saved lives and protected many more! They saw me as someone who could fight for them, protect them and save them! And thats what did and intend to do if it ever has to happen again!" Her green eye glazed with fury as her and Foelin spat at each other.

:bulletblue: "Oh, is that what they let you think?" Foelin asked with a laugh as he watched Harmony before him. "But hey, that might be true," He told her with a large grin, "I wouldn't put it past your pack to choose a cripple to be alpha, it seems just the right kind of stupidity that your wolves are known for," He laughed at Harmony over the border line, a cruel kind of happiness shining in hes fierce blue eyes as he watched her. He sat in front of Harmony, keeping his gaze locked with hers, and smiled. He was enjoying all this, it was good fun throwing insult after insult at the she-wolf.

:bulletgreen: "YOU MANGY FISH EATING-" She was to angry to finish her sentence. Before she knew it she flew across the border, paws with long sharp claws streched outward, aiming for Foelin's neck. She managed to tackle him to the ground as she snarled, "It's one thing when you make snarky comments about me, but when you bring my pack mates into it-!" She ddidn't care at this point that she crossed the border. Foelin had just went over the edge, Harmony just snapped. All her pearly white fangs shown dangerously at Foelin. Her tail stood straight up and her fur bristled. She looked quite deranged, intimidatingly deranged. She didn't care if Foelin was happy that he got her to crack. She was to angry to care about anything at the moment.

:bulletblue: "Common misconception, actually" He told her with a triumphant grin from under the female alpha. "Though we swim all the time, Winding Rivers wolves, other than me, of course, don't know how to fish. therefore, we are not fish eaters," He told her with a small laugh. He had been trying to get this reaction out of Harmony for a long time. Foelin had been working or a while to see Harmony crack, and he had finally done it. "Now if you don't mind," His voice was cold now, angry, "Get your filthy paws off my territory," He snarled, kicking harmony hard in the stomach, sending her into the air long enough for Foelin to get out from under her and lunge back with a snarl as he bit down on her shoulder.

:bulletgreen: "I don't care what the hell you wolves hunt-!" She snarled as she bucked Foelin off her back. Blood dripped from her shoulder but she barely even noticed it. She lunged at him raking her claws across his cheek. "Hmm I should count myself lucky!" She gave a erie laugh. "I'll be the one to give you your first scar! Aw they grow up so fast!" She mocked.

:bulletblue: "first visible scar" He corrected with  grin as blood trickled down his face. "And if you don;t back off soon" He snarled, rushing forward and raking his claws down her side, creating large cuts in her flank, "I'll be taking that other eye of yours!" He snarled with a cruel laugh as he watched the female alpha, "Come on," He told her with a grin, "Lets settle this!" He told her, probably enjoying this more than he should be.

:bulletgreen: Harmony let out a low growl as Foelin's claws slashed her sides. Hopefully it wasn't to deep. She didn't feel like having to sit with the Shaman all day. "Yes," She snarled "Lets!" She lunged at Foelin, landing square on his back. Though the force of her tackled sent both her and Foelin tumbling sideways. She clawed at him at every possible opening. She felt her claws tear through skin and she saw it was his stomach that she had scratched. She laughed in an odd twisted sense of humor kind of way. She rolled away before he was able to land another blow when they tumbled. "You are so weak Foelin" She sneered. "Weakest alpha i've ever seen.. though you're not much of an alpha are you!"

:bulletblue: "I'm a weak alpha, am I?" He snarled, staggering back to hes paws as blood flowed over his body. He let out a cracked laugh as he looked at Harmony, "At least I can protect my wolves," He snarled, "Hell, I've saved you're sorry wolves before! bet you didn't know about that did you? Didn't know that if it weren't for me, one of your wolves would be dead now!" He snapped, ramming himself into Harmony with a severe snarl. He knocked the she-wolf to the ground and began biting and clawing at her. His claws ripped flesh at her sides and on her back and he even managed to get cuts in at her face before backing away again.

:bulletgreen: "What.." Harmony let out a confused snarl. Foelin.. saving my wolves? She didn't believe it. She couldn't believe it. She growled low and threateningly, "Stop spewing lies!" She threw herself at him again clawing at any and all available flesh. She managed to nick his ear in her angered frenzy. Her face stung from a scratch that Foelin had inflicted a moment ago but she didn't care. She aimed low and bit into his forearm, tasting his matalic blood. She let go and backed up so they were now circling each other. "I won't believe any of your lies you tell about my wolves!" She spat at him, blood dripping from her mouth.

:bulletblue: "Oh oh oh," He said, circling her just as well, "But its not a lie." He growled to her, "She was to oblivious to notice the mountain lion that was stalking her. It had jumped on her and I fought it off," he spat at Harmony, "So I suppose, you're welcome for not walking away and letting her die," He snapped, blood oozing from more cuts on his body than he could count. "Now," he spat,  "Are we going to get off my land or not?" He snapped at her, his hackles beginning to rise again and he stared Harmony down.

:bulletgreen: She didn't know what to think or how to respond anymore. She searched his face for some sort of sign that he was lying to her. Part of her hoped he was. She didn't want believe that the cold hearted wolf Foelin would ever save a wolf from the rival pack, Harmony's pack. For now she just responded the only way she could. "I won't believe you," Her stubbornness obvious won over her judgement. "We're done here," She spat at him. "Why would I wanna stay on your useless land you fish eater," Although that wasn't the best comeback that Harmony could have come up with, she didn't care. She just wanted to get as far away from Foelin as she could. She slowly back tracked off of Foelin's land. Her hackles were still raised along with her tail. Blood oozed down her body causing droplets to fall on the battle worn ground. "We'll call this a... Draw.." She growled the word adding emphasis. Although she'd never admit it, neither her nor Foelin won the fight. They both were going to go home with blood flowing from their bodies exhausted and over all angry and frustrated.

:bulletblue:"Call it what ever you want," He spat at her, "Just stay off my land" He growled, not letting his hackles drop even a little, "Oh, by the way, the body of the mountain lion I kill is over by the lake, go there and see for your self," He spat at her before giving her one last grin, "Until next time, Harmony. It's been a pleasure to finally find your breaking point," He told her over his shoulder as he padded away, back towards the mountains where his pack made their home.

:bulletgreen: Harmony didn't acknowledge him as she walked away. Her mind was swarming with questions that wouldn't be answered. Why would Foelin save a Whispering Trees wolf? Why was one of her wolves so close to where the mountain lions come to hunt? Why wasn't she there to help? Why hadn't anyone told her about this? The fact that the wolf had kept her in the dark about this just made her even more angry, if that was even possible. Harmony was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't even realize where her paws had brought her. She looked on with blank eyes. There lay the body of a now rotting carcass of a mountain lion.
well at least common for them xD
